Nesma Etoubashi, an associate with Couple and Family Therapy Montreal, is a doctoral candidate therapist with a Master’s degree in School/Applied Child Psychology and currently completing her PhD. She has a background in educational and clinical settings, providing individual and group interventions to children and teens with special needs, conducting psychoeducational assessments regarding school readiness, learning challenges and attentional difficulties. Nesma has also provided individual therapy to students aged 6 to 17 and co-facilitated social-skill and friendship-building groups for children in the upper grades of elementary school.
As a doctoral candidate therapist, Nesma currently provides child-centered play therapy (CCPT) to children aged 3 to 11, in close collaboration with parents, as well as art- and verbal-based interventions to tweens and teens. She works with a variety of issues, including social and generalized anxiety, selective mutism, grief, impulsivity and emotional regulation.
